SENIOR RESEARCH ANALYST ROLE
As a Senior Research Analyst (Sr. RA) in our Competition practice, you will participate in project teams with senior consulting staff and leading industry experts, analysing complex matters such as mergers and acquisitions, antitrust, abuse of dominance, cartels, etc. The Senior RA role includes analysis, modelling, and research functions on client projects beyond the level of research analyst.
Your work will directly support our Principals and Academic Advisors as they serve as expert witnesses before courts and arbitration panels on behalf of some of the most significant law firms, corporations, and government agencies worldwide.
TYPICAL ASSIGNMENTS IN METRICS
Senior RAs have deep expertise in certain aspects of Brattle’s work and serve as leaders for the Analyst group. In addition to the responsibilities of an RA, Senior RAs work with limited supervision on complex analyses and modelling, managing and training RAs, and play a client-facing role on some projects.
Assignments might include:
- Combining economic theory and industry knowledge to solve real problems
- Diving into data, using statistical analyses to extract information from messy data
- Constructing models from a blend of theoretical concepts to answer complex questions
- Reviewing literature and industry trends to understand the debate around key developments
- Conducting statistical analysis and working with data using tools such as Stata, R, Excel or Python
- Auditing and contributing to the creation of financial, economic, and operational models
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A master’s degree in economics or other quantitative subjects and around 3 to 4 years of experience in the economic sector (preferably competition economics).
- Experience or understanding in antitrust cases (monopolies, abuse of dominance, cartels).
- Exceptional analytical skills (data analysis software like Stata, R, Python or Excel).
- Passion for creative problem-solving; ability to communicate complex concepts effectively
- Fluency in English (professional proficiency in another European language is a plus
