AAA Screening Programme Manager

This role is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of a local screening programme across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes. You will lead the administration and screening teams, ensuring services run smoothly and efficiently.

Key duties include coordinating screening sites, managing staff rotas, arranging patient appointments, and responding to queries from clinicians, patients, and the public. You will oversee data management and reporting, support patient referrals, maintain safety and fail-safe processes, and monitor programme performance.

The role also includes budget oversight, ordering supplies, and ensuring accurate record-keeping and data archiving. This is a great opportunity for a proactive individual to lead a vital healthcare service and make a meaningful impact.

Organise and manage the activities of a screening programme at the local level.

Address any problems that arise with clinics, staff, screening equipment, computers, data collection or hospital staff and facilities.

Manage and oversee all aspects of screening to ensure the smooth running of the programme, facilitating the appropriate management of patients within the trial as per the protocol.

Seek, inspect and select new off-site screening venues, preparing documentation of site inspections and instructions for staff.

Organise purchase of consumables and services and authorise expenditure relating to the screening programme. Has delegated budget.

Line Manager for local screening and clerical staff, including handling development and disciplinary matters.

Responsible for staff recruitment, including all aspects of advertising, recruiting, short-listing and appointing all staff associated with the local screening programme.

Actively participate in planning, preparing and presenting results for publication and presentation for internal and external review concerning data collected from the local screening programme

Generate reports and statistics as requested by Clinical Director.

Extract clinical information from patient’s notes and hospital information systems relevant to screening, AAA surgery and deaths.

Archive data securely and regularly review data held, retaining only necessary data. Destroy redundant information appropriately.
