Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role located in our Downpatrick or Belfast office. The Accountant will oversee day-to-day tasks such as preparing financial statements and tax computations, overseeing compliance, handling quarterly VAT & MTD returns, and ensuring timely reporting for both business and personal clients. Additional responsibilities include providing insights on financial planning, assisting with budgeting, liaising with external stakeholders, and supporting clients with cloud-based accounting tools like Xero and Sage. The role requires collaboration within a dynamic team while delivering reliable and accurate financial expertise to clients.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in preparing financial statements, tax computations, and VAT returns
- Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and corporate/personal tax compliance
- Hands-on knowledge of online accounting systems, particularly Xero & Sage, and cloud-based tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent
- Experience in the accountancy field or practice environment is an advantage
- Up-to-date understanding of tax legislation and regulatory requirements is preferred
