Activity Coordinator

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Activity Coordinator who will be responsible for offering a range of therapeutic activities to patients admitted to hospital for the first time experiencing an acute mental health condition.

The benefits of being engaged in therapeutic activity are widely recognised in the ward environment. The role of the activity coordinator is key in ensuring this is done thoughtfully, creatively and safely within the ward environment.

About The Team

Supported by the ward Occupational Therapist and the Multi Disciplinary Team including nurses, doctors, psychologists, art therpaist and physical wellbeing practitioner, Activity coordinators work closely with the 18 inpatients on the ward to run a programme of group and individual activities.

Evans ward aims to deliver care to people on their first admission to mental health unit with compassionate, trauma informed interventions to give a positive experience of accessing services.

You will become a part of the internationally renowned South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust by joining a hard working and compassionate ward team who strive to offer the best care to people at difficult times in their life.

About The Role

To facilitate activities for the patients on the ward. Organising therapeutic work, group activities. To work closely with the nursing team and identify any risks involving patient's care whilst facilitating activities.
