AI Engineering Manager - Leading Tech firm
We are partnering with a leading international consumer-facing organisation that is investing heavily in AI as part of its next phase of growth. AI is a strategic priority with strong executive sponsorship, and this role offers a rare opportunity to shape how AI products, platforms, and capabilities are built and scaled across a large customer base.
This is not a research-focused role. Instead, you will be responsible for delivering customer-facing AI solutions that drive measurable business outcomes, improving customer experience, increasing operational efficiency, and accelerating speed to market.
As AI Engineering Manager, you will lead the development of next-generation AI capabilities including conversational AI, voice AI, AI agents, GenAI-powered customer experiences, and intelligent automation. You will build and lead a high-performing team while partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders to take AI products from concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing AI Engineering team
- Lead the delivery of production-grade AI solutions across conversational AI, voicebots, AI agents, GenAI, and automation use cases
- Define and execute the AI engineering strategy aligned to business objectives
- Drive AI initiatives from proof of concept through deployment and ongoing optimisation
- Partner with Product, Customer Experience, Marketing, Technology, Data, Governance, and Security teams
- Translate business priorities into scalable AI products and services
- Establish best practices for AI engineering, MLOps, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and governance
- Define and track KPIs focused on customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, automation, and time-to-market
- Build an AI Centre of Excellence to support wider AI adoption across the organisation
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to create competitive advantage
Required Experience
- Proven experience leading AI, Machine Learning, or Software Engineering teams
- Strong hands-on technical background with Python and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience delivering AI products into production environments with measurable business impact
- Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and modern AI architectures
- Experience building or deploying conversational AI, voice AI, chatbots, virtual assistants, AI agents, or other customer-facing AI products
- Strong understanding of MLOps, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and AI governance
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions
