Location: Watford- Hybrid, One day per week in the office.
Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week.

A bit about the role
As an Assistant Accountant (Treasury), you will provide accounting support to the Finance and Treasury team, assisting with monthly and year-end reconciliations and reporting. This role focuses on VAT reporting, account reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, support for external statutory reporting, and providing technical guidance to colleagues across the wider Finance team.
You'll help to create brighter futures by:
- Manage VAT reporting and compliance, including the preparation, reconciliation, and submission of VAT returns, as well as monthly VAT control account reconciliations.
- Support the Senior Financial Controls & Process Improvements Manager in driving financial control enhancements, process improvements, year-end activities, audit requirements, and the delivery of financial best practice across the finance function.
- Produce and maintain cash flow forecasting models, financial reports, and advanced balance sheet and control account reconciliations to support the Finance team.
Let's talk about you
- AAT Level 4 qualified, fully qualified AAT member, or educated to degree level in business or accounting, with studies towards a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA) desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills, including creating and analysing reports using pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other data analysis tools to support accurate financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical approach to ensuring accuracy, maintaining high professional standards, and producing quality outputs.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, adapting quickly to changing demands while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrable understanding and application of EDI policies in the workplace.
