Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Designer role based in Greater London. The Assistant Designer will support the design team across childrenswear, womenswear, and homeware collections, assisting with research, concept development, and the creation of seasonal mood boards. They will help prepare sketches, technical drawings, and color stories, as well as organize fabric swatches, trims, and print references. Day-to-day tasks include updating design files, maintaining sample and archive libraries, coordinating with production and merchandising teams, and preparing materials for fittings and range reviews. The role also involves assisting with print layouts, specification sheets, and presentation materials to ensure designs are accurately communicated and delivered on time.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in fashion or textile design, supported by a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and confidence in hand sketching.
  • Excellent eye for color, print, and proportion, with a genuine interest in understated luxury and contemporary design.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced studio.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working closely with designers, product development, and production teams.
  • Understanding of basic garment construction, fabrics, and finishing techniques; experience with childrenswear or womenswear is an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback constructively, and contribute ideas to seasonal collections.
  • Right to work in the UK and availability to work on-site in Greater London.
