Role Description As an Assistant Manager at Oxford Comma Advisory, you will support the daily operations of student advisory services and help coordinate end-to-end education planning activities. In this full-time hybrid role based in Birmingham, you will spend part of your time on-site meeting students and families and part of your time working from home to manage administrative and strategic tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating university application timelines, supporting scholarship and personal branding initiatives, and ensuring consistent, high-quality communication with students, families, and partners. You will assist in organizing workshops, networking events, and mentorship programs, while tracking engagement and outcomes to improve service delivery. The role also involves collaborating with senior leadership on process improvements, preparing reports, and helping manage junior team members or interns as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in student advising, education consulting, or a related client-facing role, with a strong interest in higher education pathways.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, including managing timelines, prioritizing tasks, and handling multiple student cases simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to students, families, and partners.
- Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentation software, CRM or case management systems, video conferencing platforms).
- Ability to build trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders and maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical conduct.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to identify student needs, monitor progress, and recommend tailored solutions or process improvements.
- Previous experience coordinating events, workshops, or mentorship programs is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, with the flexibility to be on-site in Birmingham for meetings, events, and student-facing activities.
