Our Associate EPC Project Manager role is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career. You’ll contribute to some of the UK’s largest and most exciting green energy projects, helping to deliver critical infrastructure that supports our shared Net Zero ambitions, including the target of 50GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030.
As an Associate EPC Project Manager, you will work closely with the EPC Project Manager or Lead Project Manager, supporting the administration and management of contracts across a portfolio of work packages within the Mega project. Throughout this journey, you’ll receive the training, mentoring, and development needed to progress into a fully-fledged EPC Project Manager role.
This position will support the delivery of the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project and will be based in the Leeds/York region. Depending on project requirements, you will be expected to travel to the Wren Hall Converter Station, Selby approximately 2–3 times per week. As this is a project delivery role, regular attendance at multiple sites within the region, as well as occasional visits to our joint venture partner locations in Scotland and OEM will be required. In This Role, You'll
You'll play a key role in supporting the successful administration of our EPC contracts, working alongside the Lead and EPC Project Managers.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
You'll work closely with project leadership to ensure projects are delivered within budget and financial performance is accurately monitored.

Successful projects rely on strong relationships, and you'll play an important role in supporting engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will;
A competitive salary of £47,000 – £55,000 per annum, depending on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. - Support the delivery of exceptional safety standards across the wider business.
- Carry out safety leadership tours and monitor site activities to ensure safe working practices are followed.
- Work closely with project teams and contractors to promote a proactive safety-first culture.
You'll play a key role in supporting the successful administration of our EPC contracts, working alongside the Lead and EPC Project Managers.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Assisting with the administration of FIDIC and NEC contracts across projects.
- Drafting contractual communications and project instructions where required.
- Supporting the review and management of compensation events, programme acceptances, payment applications and other contractual matters.
- Helping ensure contractual obligations are delivered effectively and efficiently.
You'll work closely with project leadership to ensure projects are delivered within budget and financial performance is accurately monitored.
This Will Include
- Supporting the management of project budgets and forecasting future expenditure.
- Preparing and reporting financial information within agreed timescales.
- Monitoring contractor and internal spend, forecasts, contingencies and material costs.
- Identifying and escalating financial risks or concerns when needed.
- Working collaboratively with contractors to develop cost-effective project solutions.
You'll help identify, assess and manage project risks to support successful project delivery.
Key Activities Include
- Supporting the project team in identifying and quantifying project risks and opportunities.
- Assessing the potential impact of risks on cost, programme and resources.
- Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date project risk register.
- Preparing monthly risk reports and ensuring key issues are appropriately escalated.
Successful projects rely on strong relationships, and you'll play an important role in supporting engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will;
- Help maintain positive relationships with organisations including SSEN, DNOs, generators, regulatory bodies, landowners, farmers and local communities.
- Work closely with internal teams such as Asset Operations, Customer Connections and the Electricity System Operator.
- Ensure all communications are professional, clear, timely and effective.
- Attend meetings, public engagement events and respond to stakeholder correspondence as required.
- Ideally you have an understanding of National Grid and NEC/FIDIC EPC contracts.
- At the minimum you have a HND, ideally in engineering or project management, or equivalent experience. Engineering and or Utilities experience is desirable but not essential.
- Basic project management knowledge, with an interest in progressing along the APM (Association for Project Management) pathway, is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
