As a senior member of the team you'll advise clients across a broad range of trusts, wills and estate matters, delivering practical, high-quality legal advice with confidence and care. Alongside your client work, you'll contribute to the continued growth and development of the department through business development, knowledge sharing and supporting the progression of future talent within the team.

What does the job involve?

  • Managing a broad and varied caseload across the full Trusts & Estates portfolio.
  • Advising clients on wills, trusts, estate administration, powers of attorney, inheritance tax planning, deeds of variation and related private client matters.
  • Drafting, reviewing and advising upon a range of legal documents, including complex wills and trust arrangements.
  • Handling both taxable and non-taxable estate administrations.
  • Assisting with trust creation, administration and termination matters.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional referrers.
  • Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the department.
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers and support staff within the team.
  • Providing technical guidance and acting as a senior point of support for colleagues across the department.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an exceptional client experience.


What do you need?

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' PQE gained within a reputable Private Client department.
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge across wills, trusts, estate administration, powers of attorney, inheritance tax planning and trust matters.
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior team members.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and effectively.
  • Commercial awareness with an interest in networking and business development activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
