Role Description The Associate Specialist is a part-time, on-site role based in Milton Keynes. The role involves providing high-quality clinical care under appropriate supervision, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing review of patients. The Associate Specialist will contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other clinicians, and participate in ward rounds and case discussions. Responsibilities include accurate and timely clinical documentation, preparation of reports, and adherence to clinical governance, safeguarding, and regulatory standards. The role may also involve supporting service development, contributing to audits, and offering guidance to junior colleagues to help maintain safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Relevant medical qualification (e.g., MBBS or equivalent) with full registration, and experience working in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Demonstrated skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and risk management within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build respectful, therapeutic relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities, including handling competing priorities and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
- Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory practice, continuous professional development, and adherence to clinical governance standards.
- Experience in mental health, neurorehabilitation, or related specialties is beneficial but not essential.
- Willingness to work on-site in Milton Keynes and to participate in relevant training, supervision, and service improvement initiatives.
