Job Title: AWS Architect - Migration

Location: London, UK - Hybrid: 2-3 Days to Office Every Week

Duration: 6 Months - Extendable

Roles & Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS Architect to lead large-scale cloud transformation and migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing AWS-native solutions, migrating applications from on-premises environments, and driving modernization programs.

Role Focus: AWS Architecture, Cloud Migration, Containerization, Modernization

Key Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS target architectures
• Lead end-to-end on-premises to AWS migration programs
• Define migration strategies including Lift & Shift, Replatforming, Refactoring, and Application Consolidation
• Design and implement containerization solutions using ECS, EKS, and Fargate
• Architect AWS Landing Zones, multi-account environments, IAM, and security frameworks
• Conduct application discovery, dependency mapping, migration planning, and cutover activities
• Recommend AWS-native services to improve performance, security, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Perform architecture reviews, governance, and technical leadership across migration programs
• Mentor engineering teams and collaborate with stakeholders, DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams

Required Skills

• 14+ years of IT experience with strong AWS Architecture expertise
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Fargate, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, Route53, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM, and KMS
• Experience with AWS Control Tower, AWS Organizations, and multi-account architectures
• Strong knowledge of VPC, Transit Gateway (TGW), networking, storage, and security
• Expertise in cloud migration tools such as CloudEndure, DMS, and SMS
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Microservices, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of monolithic and distributed application architectures
• Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and presentation skills

Preferred

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• AWS DevOps Engineer or Security Specialty Certification
• FinOps and Cloud Cost Optimization experience
• Multi-cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
