The opportunity
As our Pelvic Health Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist, you will provide highly specialised assessment, clinical reasoning, treatment and management for patients with complex pelvic health presentations.
You will independently manage a complex caseload, using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice to develop individualised treatment plans and achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
You will also act as a source of specialist expertise within physiotherapy, supporting colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team while helping shape the future development of pelvic health services across HMT.
Your Role Will Include

Your Role Will Include
- Providing advanced pelvic health physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
- Independently managing a complex clinical caseload and prioritising patients according to clinical need.
- Developing and delivering evidence-based, individualised treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
- Using advanced differential diagnosis and clinical reasoning to manage complex presentations and identify appropriate onward pathways.
- Supporting the development of pelvic health standards, competencies, protocols and clinical guidance.
- Contributing to clinical governance, risk management, audit and quality improvement.
- Developing and supporting new and innovative approaches to service delivery.
- Delivering physiotherapy through a range of approaches, including face-to-face appointments, group sessions and remote consultations.
- Providing clinical education, supervision and guidance to colleagues and members of the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Building effective relationships across professional, regional and national networks.
- Promoting health, wellbeing, prevention and evidence-based practice.
- Maintaining high standards of clinical documentation, safeguarding, confidentiality and professional practice.
We are looking for an experienced physiotherapist with significant post-registration experience and demonstrable specialist expertise in pelvic health physiotherapy.
You Will Bring
- Significant postgraduate experience, including relevant specialist experience.
- Experience managing a complex caseload using advanced clinical reasoning.
- Advanced skills in assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment planning and clinical decision-making.
- Experience of service development across professional boundaries.
- Experience undertaking risk assessments and contributing to clinical governance.
- Experience supporting staff development, supervision and clinical education.
- Experience of multidisciplinary and multi-agency working.
- Evidence of involvement in developing or establishing new services.
- Experience of clinical networks or clinical practice groups.
- Experience in health promotion and preventative service development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex clinical situations autonomously.
- A commitment to reflective practice, continuing professional development and evidence-based care.
- HCPC registration.
- Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy.
- Evidence of postgraduate validated training in a relevant specialist field.
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance frameworks.
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
- Postgraduate qualifications across a range of relevant clinical conditions and/or clinical leadership.
- Additional training in areas such as prescribing or advanced diagnostic skills.
