This is an opportunity to join Addleshaw Goddard's growing Scottish Finance practice at an exciting stage in its development. Working closely with the Banking & Finance Partners, you will play a key role in advising lenders, borrowers, investors and corporates on a broad range of financing transactions across Scotland, the wider UK and internationally.

The practice spans real estate finance, leveraged finance, asset finance, corporate debt, restructurings, asset-based lending and trade finance, providing an exceptional platform for a junior lawyer seeking high-quality transactional experience.

The successful candidate will support and lead aspects of complex financing transactions from inception to completion, becoming a trusted adviser to clients while developing technical expertise across a diverse portfolio of finance work. This role aligns closely with the firm's continued investment in its Scottish offering and broader national Finance practice, creating excellent opportunities for progression, profile-building and client exposure.

  • Supporting and managing banking and finance transactions from instruction through to completion.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating finance and security documentation.
  • Leading transaction workstreams, including due diligence and deal execution.
  • Acting as a key day-to-day contact for lenders, borrowers and transaction counterparties.
  • Building strong client relationships and developing a deep understanding of commercial objectives.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across corporate, real estate, restructuring and other specialist teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Contributing to business development activities and helping strengthen the team's profile across Scotland, the UK and internationally.
  • Developing market and sector knowledge to provide commercially focused, solution-led advice.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve client delivery, transaction efficiency and ways of working.
  • Bringing insight and fresh thinking to emerging market developments and financing structures.
  • Delivering high-quality technical advice with increasing levels of responsibility and autonomy.
  • This role provides a clear pathway for progression within a growing team. You will work directly with an experienced Finance Partner and gain hands-on exposure to market-leading transactions from an early stage. The breadth of the practice offers significant opportunities to develop expertise across multiple areas of finance work while building strong client relationships and progressing towards managing associate and future leadership responsibilities.
