About the Role

We are seeking a Big Data Developer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of data-driven applications within a fast-paced financial services environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Python and a solid software development background. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable, high-performance solutions and support business-critical data initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using Python
  • Build scalable and high-performance data processing solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization
  • Follow best practices in software design, coding standards, and architecture
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and solutions


Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–5 years of software development experience
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python (mandatory)
  • Experience with Java
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills


Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Scala
  • Experience with Hadoop ecosystem technologies
  • Exposure to Apache Spark and Hive
  • Experience working with Big Data frameworks and distributed data processing systems


Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.

  • Applicant must be based in the UK
