Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Bookkeeper Admin Assistant role based in Edinburgh. The Bookkeeper will maintain accurate financial records, including posting journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, preperation of self assessments, company accounts, VAT returns and updating ledgers. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting the production of management reports. The role involves using accounting software to process transactions, monitor cash flow, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards. The Bookkeeper will collaborate with team members to provide timely, clear financial information to clients and contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes.
Qualifications
- Strong bookkeeping skills, including maintaining ledgers and processing journal entries (Accounting, Bookkeeping, Journal Entries).
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial statements and reports (Financial Statements, Finance).
- Proficiency with modern accounting software and related digital tools (Accounting Software).
- Attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
- Good numerical and analytical abilities, with the capacity to explain financial information clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work on-site in Edinburgh and collaborate effectively within a small team environment.
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role within a practice or business setting is highly beneficial.
- Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping (e.g., AAT or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory.
