As a Business Architect for Rolls-Royce’s Defence UK & RoW business, you’ll become a key part of our Defence Digital & IT leadership team. This is a highly influential and impactful role, as you’ll be guiding and defining Defence’s technology strategy in order to enable the business strategy and achievement of critical operational and financial goals.

Our Digital & IT function is at the heart of enabling our business to transform into a high-performing, competitive, resilient and growing company. Playing a key role in achieving our ambitious transformation, you will work closely with senior business leaders to deeply understand their future plans and commitments and formulate a future focused digital & IT landscape that will enable them to succeed.

As a function, Digital & IT is on its own exciting transformation journey as we create a simpler organization focused on reducing time to value and increasingly contributing as a critical enabler to the wider Rolls-Royce company transformation.

What You Will Be Doing

With this attractive opportunity you will have the chance to:

  • Work with the highest levels of Defence business leadership to deeply understand the Defence business strategy, goals and commitments.
  • Develop and maintain the Business Capability Map as a strategic instrument for visualising the company's business capabilities and identifying opportunities to optimise.
  • Capture, document and analyse end-to-end value streams to create transparency in value chains and identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
  • Co-create new digital business models together with the business, taking into account market trends, technological possibilities and business objectives
  • Drive digital transformation through analysis of existing business processes, identification of digitalisation potential, and development of transformation roadmaps in close collaboration with the business units
  • Collaborate with vendors and industry leaders to identify strategic and innovative uses of technology to address business challenges/opportunities and close capability gaps in Defence.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher with experience in Digital, IT, Business Architecture or Enterprise Architecture
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering large-scale IT and digital transformation projects
  • Prior experience working with board level stakeholders, building relationships and managing the complex interface between business and Digital & IT
  • Strong knowledge of current technology trends, their implications and potential to release value for the business
  • Mindset & behaviours focussed on execution with pace, rigor and intensity
  • Experience of working in a Defence organisation or equivalent highly regulated industry
