What will you be doing?

As a Business Development Executive (BDE) – Civils Monitoring Solutions, you’ll be responsible for driving growth across our monitoring solutions within the civil engineering and construction sector. You’ll lead the full sales lifecycle, from identifying opportunities through to contract award, helping clients manage site compliance, risk mitigation and data-led decision making across construction and engineering projects

For this role you will be expected to travel to customer sites and British Engineering Services premises when needed.

You Will

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across civils projects, including engaging with contractors, consultants, government bodies and asset owners
  • Target projects at pre-construction and delivery phases where monitoring requirements are critical
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline aligned to growth targets, using market insight, referrals and relationships to generate leads
  • Build long-term client relationships and act as a trusted advisor, understanding project challenges and positioning the right solution
  • Arrange and attend site visits, client meetings and project briefings, engaging with site teams, project managers and commercial leads
  • Develop tailored monitoring solutions to support compliance, safety and project assurance, working closely with internal technical
  • Lead the preparation of quotations, proposals and tender submissions, coordinating internally to confirm scope, pricing and timelines
  • Negotiate pricing, scope and contract terms (with support where needed), and drive opportunities through to close and award
  • Ensure a structured handover to delivery teams so client expectations are set and maintained
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and reporting within CRM systems (e.g., Dynamics 365), providing pipeline updates and forecasts
  • Stay informed on market activity, upcoming projects and competitor positioning, including the management and use of online portals to identify opportunities [Business D...Solutions | Word]

To join our team, you will need: 

  • Experience within (or strong awareness of) civils or construction-related environments, with an understanding of site-based challenges and project delivery needs
  • Ability to manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to close
  • Confidence building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels, with a consultative approach to solving client challenges
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation capability
  • Strong organisational skills, self-motivation and resilience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience selling technical or monitoring-based solutions (desirable)
  • Experience using CRM systems and working in structured sales processes (desirable)
