Business Development Representative
About the Company
As a Business Development Representative, you will join the DNA Sales Academy and generate new business by visiting SME businesses within an assigned postcode area. This is a field-based, entry-level sales role combining structured training, coaching and live field activity.
About the Role
Previous sales experience is not required. You must be self-motivated, resilient, reliable and comfortable approaching business owners face to face. Candidates who successfully complete the six-month academy and meet the required standards will graduate and be promoted to Business Development Consultant.
Responsibilities
- Complete all product, compliance, systems and sales training.
- Manage and develop your assigned territory on a daily basis.
- B2B cold calling (75+ door knocks daily once fully active).
- Target SME businesses with annual card turnover of £50,000 - £7.5m.
- Identify merchant needs and promote appropriate DNA Payments, EPOS and Zash solutions.
- Efficiently manage your CRM and pipeline of opportunities to achieve expected conversions.
- Work towards 1 self-generated sales a day (20 per average working month).
- Target clients with monthly £50+ net revenue to achieve monthly targets.
- Successfully complete customer applications and support customers through to live and transacting.
- Work with internal teams to process, deliver and set up products, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Apply coaching and feedback and demonstrate continued improvement.
- Maintain the required standards for attendance, punctuality, activity, administration and professional conduct.
- Be present on daily huddle calls both in the morning and in the evening.
Qualifications
- Driving Licence is Essential for this role.
- Full eligibility to work in the UK.

Preferred Skills
- Graduation and progression based on performance, activity, product knowledge, conduct, CRM accuracy, attendance and coachability. Graduation is not automatic.
- Successful graduates will be promoted to Business Development Consultant, with further progression to Business Development Manager and Senior Business Development Manager available based on performance.
Pay range and compensation package
- Basic Salary: £25,000
- Car Allowance: £5000 P/A plus mileage paid at HMRC statutory advisory rates.
- Incentive: Generous, uncapped scheme based on a revenue share model.
