Band 7 Cardiology Specialist Nurse – Wexham Park Hospital
12-month secondment or Fixed-Term Contract
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Band 7 Cardiology Specialist Nurse to join our team at Wexham Park Hospital and play a key role in delivering and developing high-quality cardiology care across the patient pathway.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead improvements in the care of patients with arrhythmias and acute coronary syndromes (ACS), with a focus on improving diagnostic accuracy, accelerating treatment and streamlining referral pathways.
As a senior nurse specialist, you will develop, coordinate and evaluate patient-centred services for individuals with complex cardiac rhythm disorders. You will work collaboratively across primary, acute, tertiary and community services, building strong relationships with GPs, clinicians, specialist centres and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, integrated care.
You will actively contribute to MDT meetings, case conferences and service planning, helping shape innovative and responsive arrhythmia services that improve patient experience and outcomes.

As a Clinician Experienced In Caring For Patients With Cardiac Issues, It Is Envisaged That The Post Holder Will Initially Focus On Developing Robust Systems Between Primary, Secondary And Tertiary Care Centres. Areas For Development (dependent On Existing Services/ Local Service Need) May Include

- Assisting to establish and participating in the running of rapid access clinic and clinics where necessary and developing integrated care pathways to aid management
- Assisting to establish and participating in the running of clinics dedicated to the management of cardiology patients
- Undertaking other clinic sessions across the network, including running of preadmission clinics for patients undergoing elective procedures, new patient and follow up clinics
- Establishing appropriate support services for patients with long-term conditions and ensuring appropriate patient information is available regarding the spectrum of cardiac conditions, investigations and treatments

- Current First Level Nursing and Midwifery Council Registration or other relevant professional qualification dependent on discipline
- Recognised teaching certificate i.e. ENB 998/730/mentorship
- Advanced Life Support Certificate
- MSc in advanced Practice

- Significant experience at Band 6 in Cardiology
- Substantial experience of teaching and supervising of junior staff
- Substantial experience within cardiology services
- Relevant experience inrelation to arrhythmia management
