Role Description The Care Assistant role at PEACEHAVEN HOUSE is a full-time, on-site position based in Southport. The Care Assistant will support residents with daily living activities such as personal care, mobility, dressing, and mealtimes while promoting independence and dignity. The role involves monitoring residents’ well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff, and accurately documenting care provided. The Care Assistant will help create a safe, clean, and comforting environment by assisting with housekeeping tasks related to resident care. The position also includes providing emotional support, engaging residents in meaningful conversation and activities, and collaborating closely with colleagues and families to ensure person-centered care.

Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust, offer reassurance, and work effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Experience or training in caregiving and dementia care, with an understanding of person-centered approaches and respectful support for individuals with cognitive impairments.
- Competence in safe manual handling techniques and a commitment to following health, safety, and infection control procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and reliability in a care environment, with a calm approach to challenging situations.
- Previous experience in a care home, hospital, or community care setting is desirable.
- Relevant care-related qualification (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) is an advantage, or willingness to work toward one.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Right to work in the location and successful completion of required background and reference checks.
