Cash Equity Business Analyst / SME

Location: Sheffield, UK (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Job Type: Contract (6 months)


Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cash Equity Business Analyst / SME to support the evolution of a global Cash Equities platform. The role involves working closely with Trading, Compliance, Operations, Product Owners, and Technology teams to drive strategic platform enhancements, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across front-to-back trading workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end analysis of cash equities trading workflows, including order management, execution, allocations, confirmations, and post-trade processing.
  • Translate business, market structure, and regulatory requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and development teams to define and deliver strategic platform capabilities.
  • Ensure solutions meet resilience, operational readiness, monitoring, and supportability requirements.
  • Embed regulatory controls and compliance requirements into product and service design.
  • Coordinate with global stakeholders across multiple regions and product areas to deliver complex change initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong front-to-back Cash Equities domain expertise, including STP trading, order management, market access, regulatory reporting, and middle/back-office integration.
  • Deep understanding of European Cash Equities market structure and trading ecosystems.
  • Strong knowledge of European regulations, including MiFID II, MAR, and Short Selling regulations.
  • Proven business analysis experience covering requirements gathering, process mapping, data flow analysis, acceptance criteria definition, and traceability management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Experience delivering change within global, cross-functional, and multi-team environments.
  • Understanding of SDLC, front-office trading architecture, and platform design considerations.
  • Technical awareness of Java and SQL for technical discussions, data analysis, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Profile

  • Experience working with trading desks, compliance, operations, and technology teams within investment banking or capital markets environments.
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced, globally distributed teams.
