Chief of Staff
Aulysius is a growing consulting and implementation company. We help businesses work better through platforms like Asana, Airtable, Make, and Miro. Our clients trust us to bring order to their operations - and now we need someone to do the same for ours.
The CEO and COO are focused on clients and growth. Nobody has time to run the company properly. That is where you come in.
This role is for someone who does not need to be managed. You will have real authority, real ownership, and direct access to the founders. You will make decisions independently, build things from scratch, and be the operational force that holds everything together and pushes it forward.
If you are looking for a job where someone tells you what to do, this is not it. If you want to build something meaningful, have a genuine impact on how a company is run, and grow into one of its most important people - read on.
There is no exhaustive list of tasks here, because this role will evolve as the company does. What will not change is the expectation: you own the operational health of Aulysius.
In practice, this means:
Running internal operations. You keep the company organized. Task management, reporting, documentation, admin, finance coordination - you build systems for all of it and make sure they actually work. You spot what is broken before anyone asks.
Managing hiring end-to-end. When we need someone, you handle it - writing the job description, sourcing candidates, conducting initial interviews, and bringing a recommendation to the founders. You build the onboarding process. You help shape the team culture.
Owning vendor and partner relationships. You negotiate with vendors, follow up on deliverables, evaluate new tools, and manage operational partnerships independently. The founders are not in these conversations unless they need to be.
Coordinating with clients on operational matters. You join calls, own action items, and ensure follow-through. You communicate with clients and partners at a professional level that reflects well on the company.
Building the operational foundation for growth. As Aulysius expands, new functions will need to be created. You will be the person who designs and builds them - from org structure to SOPs to the first hires within those functions.
You have at least five years of experience running operations, serving as a chief of staff, or building business functions - ideally inside a consulting, agency, or professional services company.
You have built things from scratch, not just maintained what others created. You have made consequential decisions independently and stood behind them. You are comfortable representing a company in client and partner conversations. You write clearly, communicate precisely, and follow up without being asked.
You know your way around tools like Asana, Airtable, Google Workspace, Make, Notion, or similar platforms. You are not intimidated by new software - you are the person who evaluates it and recommends it.
Most importantly: you have the judgment to know when to act and when to escalate. You do not ask for permission on things that are yours to decide. You do ask when something genuinely requires founder input.
