The Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT) is a service transformation programme

delivered by Health Education England and partners that aims to improve existing children and young people’s mental health services (CYP MHS)

working in the community.

Islington Community CAMHS is an integrated multi disciplinary service providing a child and family mental health service to the population of

Islington across the 0-18 year age range. The Children’s Wellbeing Service is located within the Social Emotional Mental Health Pathway

alongside CAMHS, Local Authority and 3rd Sector Mental Health Service providers. Referrals are received through a Central Point of Access.

The postholder will work as a clinician in the Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) Team, working alongside the service leads in coordinating

and developing the CWP Team. This post will involve contributing towards the provision of intensive supervision and clinical caseload

management for CWPs in the service, joining the CWPs in clinical sessions where appropriate.

The postholder will supervise a max of 3 trainee Children’s Well-Being Practitioners (CWPs; Band 4 practitioners). The CWPs deliver CBT informed

guided self-help for children and young people (2-18 years) experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural problems in a variety of forms and settings, e.g. 1:1 work, group work, psycho-educational workshops. The postholder will deliver both group and individual supervision and support the trainees to pass their CYP-IAPT training.
