Civil Technician - Scotland

BakerHicks is continuing to grow, and we’re looking for a Civil Technician to join our team supporting the delivery of complex and technically varied projects across sectors including highways, rail, aviation, power, public sector, defence, nuclear and life sciences.


This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse project portfolio, contributing to civil infrastructure design and delivery within multidisciplinary engineering teams. You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, helping to produce accurate, high-quality technical outputs on projects that range from major infrastructure developments to highly regulated environments.


The role

  • Producing civil engineering drawings and models using Civil 3D
  • Supporting the design of drainage, highways, earthworks and external works infrastructure
  • Working closely with Civil Engineers and other disciplines to support coordinated project delivery
  • Assisting with design development from early-stage concepts through to detailed design
  • Ensuring technical outputs are delivered accurately and in line with client and project requirements
  • Contributing to the successful delivery of multiple projects across a range of sectors


About you

  • Previous experience working as a Civil Technician within an engineering consultancy or similar environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D is essential
  • Experience working on infrastructure or built environment projects
  • Understanding of civil engineering design principles and technical coordination
  • Comfortable working within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach
  • To support work within sectors such as defence and nuclear, candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance where required.
  • Experience on Infodrainage/Microdrainage a plus!
