Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Class 2 Refuse Driver role based in Burnley. The Class 2 Refuse Driver will operate refuse collection vehicles safely and efficiently on assigned routes, ensuring timely and accurate collection of waste and recycling from households and commercial customers. Responsibilities include performing daily vehicle checks, reporting defects, and ensuring compliance with all relevant transport and safety regulations. The role also involves working closely with loaders and other team members, maintaining clear communication, and engaging with customers and the public in a professional and respectful manner. The driver will complete route documentation, follow site procedures at disposal and recycling facilities, and support FCC Environment’s commitment to high standards of service and environmental performance.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- Strong truck driving skills with proven experience operating refuse or similar heavy goods vehicles.
- Valid Class 2 (or equivalent) commercial driving license; a clean driving record and CPC qualification are highly desirable.
- Effective communication and customer service skills to interact respectfully with colleagues, customers, and the public.
- Ability to work safely in all weather conditions, follow health and safety procedures, and perform basic vehicle inspections.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team with a focus on service quality and environmental responsibility.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for completing route sheets and paperwork; prior experience in waste, logistics, or related sectors is an advantage.
