About The Role:
We’re looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Vacuum Tanker Driver to join our team, bringing strong multi-drop experience and the confidence to operate in rural areas and challenging locations with restricted access.
This role requires a good understanding of transport legislation, including drivers’ hours, the Working Time Directive, and ‘O’ licence compliance. You’ll be someone who takes pride in doing things the right way, with a positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Safety is at the heart of everything we do, so it’s essential you share this commitment. You’ll be confident assessing tasks and making the right decisions, including challenging or refusing work if it cannot be carried out safely.
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for ensuring your vehicle is clean, compliant and well maintained, carrying out thorough pre-use checks and reporting any defects in line with DVSA standards. You’ll also ensure the safe loading and unloading of the vacuum tanker, always working in line with our health and safety policies and our “Everyone Home Safe Every Day” approach.
You’ll drive in a safe and fuel-efficient manner, supporting both environmental sustainability and vehicle performance, while also delivering a high standard of customer service. As a key representative of our brand, you’ll interact professionally with customers and work closely with our internal wastewater teams to ensure a reliable and high-quality service.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to hold a C licence entitlement (or above), a valid driver tachograph card, a Driver CPC, and at least 12 months’ HGV driving experience. A solid understanding of EU Drivers’ Hours rules and Working Time Regulations is also essential, and knowledge of the County Durham area would be an advantage.
You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team where you’ll be encouraged to contribute and share best practice, while also having the confidence to work independently when required.
While previous experience operating a Vacuum Tanker would be beneficial, it is not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing HGV experience and develop new skills within the role.
