Position Overview

The Cleaning Site Manager is responsible for overseeing all cleaning operations at an assigned facility or portfolio of facilities, ensuring high-quality service delivery, client satisfaction, and compliance with health and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management The Site Manager oversees day-to-day cleaning operations, ensuring all contracted services are delivered to specification and quality standards. They conduct regular site inspections, implement quality control procedures, and address any service deficiencies promptly. The role includes developing and maintaining cleaning schedules, managing resource allocation, and ensuring adequate supplies and equipment are available.

Team Leadership This position involves recruiting, training, and supervising cleaning staff, including conducting performance reviews and managing disciplinary procedures when necessary. The Site Manager creates staff rotas, manages attendance and absence, and ensures appropriate staffing levels are maintained. They motivate and develop team members, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional growth.

Client Relations The Site Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction with cleaning services. Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience managing cleaning operations in a commercial or facilities management environment (minimum 3-5 years)
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and leading teams
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and cleaning industry standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and facility management software
  • Valid driver's license (if managing multiple sites)

  • Professional cleaning industry qualification (BICS, COSHH, IOSH, or equivalent)
