Commercial Events Consultant
A major UK media brand is exploring the launch of a new consumer-facing, ticketed festival for its audience. Early thinking is already in place internally (theme, initial budget sketch, some venue ideas), but the team needs a senior commercial specialist to pressure-test the model and build the case for the exec board. This is a strategic feasibility engagement, not a delivery role.
Key Responsibilities
- Build out the commercial and financial modelling for the event: sponsorship structure and go-to-market approach, ticket pricing and volume modelling, and overall financial viability
- Assess how the commercial model aligns with the brand's wider marketing objectives - the festival is intended to serve loyal audiences and act as a top-of-funnel marketing play
- Time permitting, get into more delivery-adjacent scoping: venue options, indicative costings, ticketing platform considerations
- Produce a final recommendation deck for the exec board, with a clear view on whether to proceed, delay, or shelve the idea
Skills & Experience
- Senior events/commercial consultant with genuine B2C festival experience - a public-ticketed festival background (not just B2B/trade events) is essential
- Strong commercial mindset: comfortable modelling sponsorship revenue, ticket sales/pricing and ROI, and able to link that back to brand value
- Confident working independently, reporting into a senior stakeholder with regular check-ins
- Comfortable producing polished, exec-board-ready output
Project Scope & Duration: Freelance consultancy engagement, 8 weeks, ideally full-time - open to discussing reduced days depending on availability
