Commercial Graduate
London, England, United Kingdom Full-time Posted 49 minutes ago
About The Role
Looking to shape the future of energy while building a career that's unique to you? At EDF, Success is Personal. You'll learn from experts, build valuable commercial skills and start a career that helps Britain achieve net zero.
The Opportunity
Alongside earning a salary of £35,000 per annum, you'll join our two-year Commercial Graduate Programme, expected to begin in September 2027. From day one, you'll become part of our graduate community and start building a career that combines commercial thinking, innovation and purpose.
Over the course of the programme, you'll gain experience across a range of commercial functions, from digital channels and customer strategy to trading, market analysis and large business customers. You'll work on projects that help EDF deliver innovative solutions for customers while supporting Britain's transition to a low-carbon future.
You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple UK sites, with flexibility to work from home on a hybrid basis. Whether you're based in London, Exeter, Gloucester or elsewhere, you'll be supported with practical and financial help to relocate or travel as needed. This is a great way to experience different parts of EDF, build your network and develop a broad understanding of the energy sector.
What You'll Experience
No two placements are the same. You'll work alongside commercial specialists, analysts, marketers, strategists and customer-focused teams while developing skills that will help shape your future career.
Throughout the programme, you'll have opportunities to explore how EDF serves millions of customers, responds to changing market conditions and develops innovative products and services. You'll gain hands-on experience, take on real responsibility and learn from colleagues who'll support your development every step of the way.
The variety of placements will help you discover where your interests lie while developing commercial awareness, influencing skills, analytical thinking and confidence. Whether you're analysing market trends, supporting strategic projects, helping improve customer experiences or contributing to commercial decisions, you'll gain a unique insight into one of Britain's leading energy companies.
Location
You'll be based at one of our key sites – #London #Gloucester or #Exeter – with opportunities to complete placements across different parts of our business depending on project and development requirements.
Most roles require attendance on site between three and five days per week. During the programme, you may be asked to relocate temporarily for placements, and we'll provide practical and financial support to help make these moves as smooth as possible.
Where This Programme Could Take You
Sandy joined EDF's Commercial Graduate Programme in September 2022, completing four six-month placements across Retail, Brand, Large Business and Corporate Strategy. During the scheme, he gained experience in pricing energy tariffs, planning marketing campaigns, supporting commercial deals and contributing to strategic projects.
He now works in the Key & Strategic Account Management team, managing a portfolio of large business customers, building relationships with key partners and supporting new business opportunities.
"The graduate programme gave me exposure to a wide range of commercial activities and helped me discover where I could make the biggest impact. The experience provided a strong foundation for my career and prepared me for my current role in Key & Strategic Account Management."
Who You Are
To be eligible for this EDF graduate programme, you need to have achieved or be expecting to achieve a bachelor’s degree (2:2 or higher) in any field of study.
Please note that a Virtual Assessment Centre is planned for November 2026. As this is a key stage of the recruitment process, applicants must be able to attend to be considered for the programme.
At EDF, everyone's welcome. We're committed to creating an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds can thrive and succeed. We know that different perspectives help us deliver better outcomes for our colleagues, customers and communities.
Pay, Benefits And Culture
Alongside a starting salary of £35,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

Everyone is welcome at EDF; we're committed to building a workforce that reflects gender balance, social mobility, and inclusion of minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities, and those with disabilities.
As a Disability Confident employer, we're committed to creating an accessible recruitment process and encourage candidates to tell us about any support they may need. Should you disclose a disability and meet the minimum criteria (which will include holding a relevant degree discipline/grade and achieving the required pass mark for Stage 1 Testing) for the role you’ll be progressed to the first stage of the selection process. Some of our roles at EDF attract large volumes of applications. When this happens, we’ll apply the Disability Confident scheme’s guidance on taking practical and appropriate steps selecting disabled candidates who best meet the minimum criteria for the job.
Our Recruitment Process
We'll guide you through every stage and keep you updated along the way. You'll be supported by real people, with opportunities to ask questions, learn more and receive feedback where possible.
For our Early Careers Programmes, we use a combination of automated decision-making, assessment technology and human review. Find out more by referring to our EDF Recruitment – AI and Automated Decision-making policy.
Join us and find your success at EDF.
We aim to close applications on the 1st October, but we may close earlier due to volumes.
