Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Swaffham for a Commercial Gas/Mechanical Engineer. The role involves carrying out planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs on commercial gas and mechanical systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation of boilers, heating systems, and associated plant. The engineer will diagnose faults, perform testing, and complete repairs or replacements in line with regulatory standards and client requirements. Responsibilities include completing service reports, maintaining accurate records, and communicating clearly with clients and colleagues to plan and deliver works. The engineer will also support continuous improvement in system performance, work closely with other trades, and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures while representing Integral UK Ltd professionally on client sites.

Qualifications

  • Strong commercial gas engineering skills, including experience with boilers, burners, heating systems, and associated controls.
  • Solid mechanical engineering abilities, such as knowledge of pumps, valves, pipework, and HVAC-related mechanical plant.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., current commercial gas qualifications such as ACS or equivalent) and a recognised engineering apprenticeship or NVQ in mechanical or gas engineering.
  • Good fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work safely and independently on complex systems.
  • Experience working in commercial or industrial environments, ideally within facilities management or building services.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, safe systems of work, and compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, site staff, and colleagues.
  • Competence in basic IT for completing service reports and using digital tools, and a full UK driving licence for travel to client sites.
  • Flexibility to participate in call-out rotas or out-of-hours work when required, and a customer-focused mindset with attention to quality and reliability.
