The successful candidate will join the existing acute and community paediatricians in providing an integrated Paediatric service throughout the wide geographical area covered by the trust.
The role includes assessment and management of children with developmental delay, disability, behavioural concerns and vulnerable children within the community paediatric clinics, autism assessments in children under 7 years old, and statutory work including providing medical advice to contribute to the Education, Health and Care plan process and carrying out Initial Health Assessments for children looked after. Multiagency and team working is an integral part of this job. Clinics are delivered from Airedale Hospital and outreach sites across the locality including in the local Special Schools.

Responsibilities Of The Post
- To provide
- A point of referral for children, throughout the age range, presenting with developmental difficulties or health problems having an impact on their education and social wellbeing.
- Assessment and diagnosis for children who may have developmental disability and for neurodevelopmental disorders in children under the age of 7 years
- Long term follow-up of children with disabilities
- Medical advice relating to children with special educational needs known to the service
- To contribute to assessment of vulnerable children including safeguarding medicals and initial health assessments for children entering care.
- To take an active role in the development of Community Paediatric services, including the development of service standards and protocols, and to have an active commitment to audit.
- To contribute to the teaching of junior medical staff, other health professionals and staff from other agencies.
