We are seeking an experienced Director – Risk & Governance (Control Advisory) to play a key role in growing our Risk & Governance practice. This is a strategic hire focused on building and delivering a market-leading control advisory offering, supporting our ambition to significantly expand our advisory footprint across corporate clients, including FTSE 350 organisations.
This role will sit within the Risk & Governance team and work closely with Business Transformation, Technology, and SOX specialists to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Delivery
Drive growth in the corporate and FTSE 350 market, supporting expansion of the firm’s assurance and advisory footprint
Leverage existing client relationships and networks to generate new business opportunities
Develop and position control advisory services for:
Act as a bridge between Risk & Governance and Business Transformation teams
Work closely with:
Develop thought leadership in Control Advisory and GRC tooling
Provide insights on emerging topics such as:

This role will sit within the Risk & Governance team and work closely with Business Transformation, Technology, and SOX specialists to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Delivery
- Lead advisory engagements focused on control environment design, optimisation, and implementation
- Support clients in meeting regulatory requirements, including Corporate Governance Code obligations (e.g. Provision 29)
- Advise on GRC tool selection and implementation, leveraging relationships with leading providers
- Contribute to ERP implementations (e.g. SAP S/4HANA) from a controls and governance perspective
- Provide expertise in SOX control design and support assurance activities where required
- Deliver both large-scale transformation programmes and targeted advisory engagements
Drive growth in the corporate and FTSE 350 market, supporting expansion of the firm’s assurance and advisory footprint
Leverage existing client relationships and networks to generate new business opportunities
Develop and position control advisory services for:
- Large listed organisations
- AIM-listed and private companies
- Businesses preparing for IPO or carve-outs
- Collaborate with international teams (notably US and Europe) to deliver global client engagements
Act as a bridge between Risk & Governance and Business Transformation teams
Work closely with:
- Risk Advisory (framework design and implementation)
- Technology Enablement (GRC tools and digital delivery)
- Business Transformation (end-to-end ERP programmes)
- SOX / Internal Audit teams (control design and assurance)
- Contribute to a “one-stop-shop” consulting offering for clients
Develop thought leadership in Control Advisory and GRC tooling
Provide insights on emerging topics such as:
- Control frameworks in digital transformations
- Governance in shared service centre models
- Enhance the firm’s reputation through client insights and innovation
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members to build capability in control advisory
- Play a key role in scaling the Risk & Governance team nationally and internationally
- Support the development of new propositions and service offerings
Skills & Experience Required
Extensive experience in risk, governance, and control advisory within a consulting environment
Strong expertise in:
- Internal control frameworks (SOX and non-SOX)
- GRC tooling and digital governance solutions
- ERP systems (e.g. SAP S/4HANA) from a controls perspective
- Proven track record in leading complex client engagements
- Demonstrated ability in business development and revenue generation
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working across multiple sectors (e.g. Life Sciences, Energy, Financial Services, Public Sector)
- Established network with clients and GRC technology providers
- Experience supporting IPO readiness or carve-outs
- International delivery experience or collaboration with global teams
- Additional language skills
