Content Creator (FTC)
BAO began as a cool box and a steamer at Netil Market in Hackney. Founded by Shing Tat Chung, Erchen Chang and Wai Ting Chung — three art students turned restaurateurs — BAO has grown into an award-winning Taiwanese restaurant group with seven locations across London, a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and the immersive BAO KTV karaoke experience.
Our food, design and storytelling are inseparable. Everything we do — from the way we plate a 40-day aged steak rice to the way we photograph a pillowy bao — is rooted in craft, culture and creativity.
We're looking for a talented Content Creator to join BAO on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You'll be at the heart of how we show up across our digital channels — capturing the energy of our restaurants, telling the stories behind our dishes, and helping our audience feel the warmth and creativity that makes BAO, BAO.
This is a hands-on, multi-format role. You'll be as comfortable shooting a reel in a busy kitchen as you are building out a creative content calendar. If you're obsessed with food, design and storytelling, this is your role.
£35,000 per annum (pro rata, based on part-time hours)
- Creating photo and video content across BAO's social channels (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and more)
- Planning and managing a content calendar aligned with menu launches, openings, campaigns and cultural moments
- Writing compelling copy — creating punchy social captions
- Collaborating with the marketing, design and operations teams to ensure consistent brand storytelling
- Spending time across BAO sites to capture the atmosphere, the food and the people behind it all
- Monitoring content performance and using insights to sharpen your creative approach
- Staying across food, culture and platform trends — and bringing fresh ideas to the table
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects to a deadline
- Strong photography and short-form video skills (iPhone-first is fine — it's the eye that matters)
- Excellent copywriting with a feel for tone of voice and attention to detail
- Confidence across social platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok
- An understanding of what makes food content land — composition, lighting, pacing, storytelling
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects to deadline
- A genuine love of food, culture and the restaurant world
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar editing tools
- An interest in Taiwanese food culture or East Asian cuisine
- Working knowledge of SEO and email marketing
- Experience using AI tools to support creative workflows
- A portfolio that makes us hungry
