About The Role

Pay Details: Grade 8, SCP 26-30, £37,280 - £40,777 p.a.

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 37 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm & Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm

Main Place of Work: Civic Offices, Holton Road, Barry

Description:

Recovery and enforcement of Council Tax through to final stages including Charging Order and bankruptcy hearings. Leading and supervising teams dealing with Council Tax administration.

About You

You will need:

  • Extensive experience of working in a Local Taxation environment
  • Extensive experience in dealing with financial matters
  • Experience in working with fully computerised systems
  • The ability to effectively act as advocate for the Council at Court and at Valuation Tribunals
  • Able to deal confidently and effectively with customers.
  • Able to deal with customers in difficult situations.
  • 5 GCSEs grade A to C grades / O levels including English and Mathematics or equivalent
