Robert Walters is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation in Milton Keynes to recruit a Credit Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced credit professional to play a key role in managing cash flow, reducing aged debt, and supporting the wider finance team. Working within a collaborative and supportive environment, you will be responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring outstanding balances are collected efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and approve credit applications for new and existing customers.
- Set up and maintain customer accounts within NetSuite.
- Review and manage customer credit limits based on risk assessments and available credit insurance.
- Monitor customer creditworthiness using external credit reference tools.
- Proactively collect outstanding invoices and ensure payments are received within agreed terms.
- Manage aged debt and follow up overdue accounts via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
- Negotiate payment arrangements where appropriate.
- Investigate and resolve invoice queries and payment disputes.
- Work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Teams and Contract Managers to resolve outstanding issues.
- Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate action where necessary.
- Provide regular reporting and updates on debtor performance and financial risk.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable within a commercial environment.
- Experience using ERP systems, ideally NetSuite.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive approach to debt collection and account management.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
- A good understanding of credit risk assessment and customer account management.
What's on Offer?
This Credit Controller role has a salary of £28,000 - £30,000 plus company specific benefits including hybrid working.
