Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst with a strong banking and investment management background to support the definition and delivery of reporting and analytics capabilities within a modern Microsoft Fabric data platform.

Working alongside an existing Business Analyst, Data Architects, Data Engineers and business stakeholders, this role combines business analysis with technical data analysis. The successful candidate will define business requirements, translate them into development-ready specifications, and undertake detailed source-to-target data mapping and lineage analysis to support Agile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Business Analysts and stakeholders to define Data as a Service (DaaS) requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into clear, development-ready functional and technical specifications.
  • Undertake detailed source-to-target data mapping and document end-to-end data lineage.
  • Work closely with Data Architects and Data Engineers to ensure requirements are correctly understood and implemented.
  • Support reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Participate in Agile delivery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Commercial experience in Banking or Investment Management.
  • Experience performing both business analysis and technical data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling.
  • Experience documenting mappings and lineage.
  • Experience producing functional and technical specifications.
  • Good SQL skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience working in Agile teams.

Contract Details

  • UK-based
