ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will start your career in Data Engineering by working alongside experienced engineers on real-world data projects. You will support the development of modern cloud-based data platforms, learn industry best practices, and gain hands-on experience with data pipelines, cloud technologies, and software engineering while contributing to enterprise-scale data solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining automated data pipelines
- Support the development of secure and reliable cloud-based data platforms
- Write SQL queries to transform, validate, and analyze data
- Help integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
- Monitor data quality and investigate data-related issues
- Support testing, deployment, and maintenance of data engineering solutions
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements
- Create and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines and data solutions
- Participate in the software development lifecycle, including implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement
- Learn and apply engineering best practices, including version control, cloud technologies, and data governance
REQUIREMENTS
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent)
- Interest in Data Engineering, cloud technologies, and software development
- Basic understanding of SQL or relational databases
- Familiarity with Python or another programming language is an advantage
- Understanding of data, databases, or analytics concepts is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Enthusiasm for building a career in Data Engineering and modern cloud technologies
