Data Engineer
Build trusted data products that turn complexity into confident decisions
Vanquis is strengthening its cloud-first data platform so colleagues can use trusted information to improve customer outcomes and business decisions. As a Data Engineer, you will build scalable data pipelines, strengthen lineage and help create a clearer single source of truth.
This is a hands-on opportunity with real ownership and visibility across engineering, architecture, delivery and business teams. You will help reduce manual effort, improve analyst productivity and influence how our data capability evolves.

✅ Build scalable batch and near real-time pipelines across cloud and on-premise sources.
✅ Strengthen metadata, lineage and data dictionaries so information is easier to trust and trace.

This is a hands-on opportunity with real ownership and visibility across engineering, architecture, delivery and business teams. You will help reduce manual effort, improve analyst productivity and influence how our data capability evolves.
How you’ll make an impact

✅ Strengthen metadata, lineage and data dictionaries so information is easier to trust and trace.
✅ Create data marts that reduce preparation time and increase analyst productivity.
✅ Improve performance, testing, automation and secure delivery across the data platform.
✅ Share knowledge and challenge existing approaches so the team keeps learning and improving.
What you’ll bring
- Cloud data engineering experience, ideally across Azure Data Factory, Databricks or Spark, Blob Storage and Data Lake.
- Experience creating high-performing pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
- Knowledge of data modelling, data marts, metadata-driven development, governance and lineage.
- Agile and DevOps delivery experience, including CI/CD, testing, automation and performance tuning.
- Clear communication and the confidence to partner with technical and business stakeholders.
- A curious, improvement-focused approach that considers security, risk and regulatory requirements.
