Data Science Lead
We are seeking an experienced Data Science Lead to join our Modernisation Program and contribute to the development of advanced analytical capabilities across the organisation.
In this role, you will work closely with business, technology, and analytics teams to design, develop, and implement data science solutions that support informed decision-making and deliver measurable business value. You will play a key role in advancing analytical practices, supporting innovation, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive data-driven culture.
About the Role
As a Data Science Lead, you will combine technical expertise with leadership and stakeholder engagement to deliver high-quality analytical solutions. You will be responsible for developing predictive models, applying statistical and machine learning techniques, and supporting the adoption of modern analytics approaches across a diverse portfolio of initiatives.
You will also provide guidance and mentorship to team members, contribute to capability development within the data science function, and help establish best practices for modelling, governance, and delivery.
Technical Skills & Experience
Essential
* Strong experience applying data science, machine learning, and statistical modelling techniques to solve business challenges.
* Advanced programming skills in Python and experience working with large datasets.
* Experience developing, validating, deploying, and monitoring predictive models.
* Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities.
* Ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and communicate findings effectively to a range of audiences.
* Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Highly Desirable
* Experience with Spark, PySpark, Hadoop, and distributed data processing technologies.
* Familiarity with NoSQL databases and modern data platforms.
* Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar technologies.
* Knowledge of MLOps, model deployment, automation, and CI/CD practices.
* Experience working within Linux environments.
* Exposure to cloud-based analytics platforms and data engineering concepts.
* Experience delivering projects within Agile or iterative delivery environments.
