Delivery Manager cum Agile Project Manager
Location: Leeds, UK - 3 Day travel to Office - MANDATORY
Experience: 20+ years (including 10–12 years in Agile/Scrum delivery roles)
Role Summary
The Delivery Manager cum Agile Project Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end delivery of projects and services for assigned customer accounts. The role focuses on delivery governance, stakeholder management, financial oversight, team leadership, risk management, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Delivery Manager acts as the primary point of contact between the customer and delivery teams, driving successful project outcomes while meeting quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple projects, programs
- Experience of leading team in onshore-offshore model
- Ensure delivery commitments are achieved within agreed scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.
- Drive delivery governance through status reviews, steering committees, and stakeholder meetings.
- Monitor project health, delivery KPIs, resource utilization, and service performance metrics.
- Establish and maintain delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, and escalation mechanisms.
- Closely coordinating with product management to deliver product roadmap as per business priorities
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary delivery contact for customer stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular governance meetings and provide delivery updates to senior stakeholders.
- Manage customer expectations, scope discussions, and issue resolution.
- Support account growth through identification of opportunities and value-added services.
Financial Management
- Manage project budgets and forecasts
- Track revenue, margins, forecasts, burn rates, and resource costs.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to budget targets.
- Support commercial discussions, change requests, and contract compliance.
People Management
- Lead cross-functional teams including Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Developers, QA, Business Analysts, and Architects.
- Drive resource planning, allocation, onboarding, and performance management.
- Mentor delivery leads and project managers to improve delivery maturity.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Risk & Quality Management
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project and program risks.
- Manage issues, dependencies, and escalation paths effectively.
- Ensure compliance with organizational quality standards, processes, and audit requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned reviews.
Agile & Governance
- Promote Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies. Experience of working in scaled agile delivery.
- Monitor sprint performance, release planning, velocity, and delivery predictability.
- Ensure project governance artifacts, reporting, RAID logs, and dashboards are maintained.
- Support PMO and organizational governance initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- 15+ years of experience in Delivery Management, Agile Project Management, or Program Management.
- Proven track record of leading medium to large-scale software delivery projects and customer engagements.
- Strong Agile delivery experience covering planning, estimation, execution, governance, reporting, and frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Experience managing multiple distributed, cross-functional teams across Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall environments.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue, margin, and cost control.
- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Experience operating in regulated, security-conscious, or compliance-driven environments.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, negotiation, decision-making, and risk management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset.
Preferred
- Experience managing enterprise-scale digital transformation, application development, cloud, or testing programmes.
- Familiarity with delivery and project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience managing customer-facing engagements, governance forums, and executive stakeholder reporting.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, SAFe, AgilePM, or equivalent.
- Experience owning delivery KPIs, customer satisfaction (CSAT), resource utilization, and financial performance targets
Tools & Technologies
- Hands‑on experience with Agile and project management tools such as:
- JIRA
- Azure DevOps
- Confluence
- Trello or equivalent
Qualifications Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
- Agile or Project Management certifications (SAFe, PMI‑ACP) are advantageous.
