We are seeking an exceptional clinical leader to join us as Deputy Chief Medical Officer at a pivotal time in our organisational journey. This is an opportunity to influence the future of reproductive healthcare, helping to shape clinical strategy, lead transformation and ensure the highest standards of patient care across a national healthcare charity organisation.

Working closely with the Chief Medical Officer and Executive colleagues, you will play a key leadership role in delivering safe, effective and sustainable services while supporting the development of our medical workforce and future clinical leaders.


The Role

As Deputy Chief Medical Officer, you will provide senior medical leadership across BPAS, helping to translate strategy into operational delivery & leading programmes that improve access, quality, productivity & patient outcomes.

You will work collaboratively with medical, nursing, midwifery & operational leaders to drive innovation, strengthen clinical governance & support the development of new models of care. You will also deputise for the Chief Medical Officer, representing BPAS internally & externally and contributing to senior organisational decision-making.


About You

We are looking for a GMC-registered doctor with significant senior clinical leadership experience within a complex healthcare environment.


You will bring:

  • A proven track record of leading clinical services & multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience of delivering large-scale service transformation & improvement
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, patient safety & quality improvement
  • Experience of medical workforce leadership, including appraisal, job planning & professional development
  • Excellent relationship-building & influencing skills, with the ability to work across professional & organisational boundaries
  • The ability to lead confidently through change, balancing strategic thinking with operational delivery.
  • Experience within reproductive healthcare, women's health or a related specialty would be advantageous but is not essential.

Further Information:


Location: Hybrid - home working with travel required to Head Office in Leamington Spa and other BPAS units as required.


Salary: £110,000 - £130,000 per annum depending on skills and experience


Hours: 36 per week Monday to Friday


On call

All members of the Senior Operating Team will be required to participate in an on-call rota. The On-Call policy and procedure is being reviewed and revised, however it is envisaged that participation will involve being available to receive emergency / on-call telephone calls up to 9pm Monday to Friday and on Saturdays and Sundays approximately 4 times per year.
