Deputy Director of Planning
An interesting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior leader to join a South Coast NHS ICB in a key role supporting integrated planning across a complex health and care system.
Working closely with the Director of Strategic Finance and CFO, the post holder will lead the development and delivery of integrated operational plans covering finance, activity, workforce and performance across a multi‑billion-pound budget. A key focus of the role will be ensuring plans are aligned across partner organisations, are underpinned by robust analysis, and support the delivery of high-quality, sustainable services. The role will also involve providing system leadership to resolve planning challenges, strengthen governance and risk management, and represent the organisation at regional and national forums.
Crucial to success will be the ability to build strong relationships across NHS organisations and local authorities, influencing senior stakeholders to drive collaboration, improvement and delivery. The post holder will also lead and develop a compact team, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and strong financial and operational discipline.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and credible leader with a strong track record in strategic planning, financial management and system leadership within the NHS or a similarly complex environment. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage competing priorities, provide clear and insightful advice, and lead through influence. Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills will be essential.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to operate at senior system level, shape the future of integrated planning, and make a meaningful impact on the delivery of health and care services.
