Working closely with operational, commercial and pre-construction teams, you will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities from concept through to construction and handover.

The Role

As Design Manager, you will be responsible for driving design excellence, ensuring buildability, programme alignment and technical assurance across multiple project stages. You will act as the key interface between clients, consultants, specialist subcontractors and delivery teams to ensure designs are coordinated, commercially robust and construction-ready.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Manage the end-to-end design process from concept through to construction delivery.

✅ Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams including civil, structural, architectural and specialist designers.

✅ Lead design workshops, technical reviews and stakeholder engagement activities.

✅ Embed buildability, safety and programme considerations into the design process.

✅ Manage design risk, change control and technical governance.

✅ Support procurement strategies, commercial teams and project delivery functions.

✅ Contribute to design standardisation and continuous improvement across Keltbray's growing Data Centre portfolio.

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and complex interfaces.
  • Knowledge of construction methodology, sequencing and delivery planning.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • A structured, proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable Experience

  • Data Centres, Digital Infrastructure or other mission-critical environments.
  • Hyperscale projects.
  • NEC contracts.
  • BIM and digital information management.
  • Chartered status or working towards professional accreditation (ICE, IStructE, CIOB or similar).

Why Join Keltbray?

You'll be joining a business at the forefront of delivering critical infrastructure projects that support the UK's digital future. This role offers the chance to influence major data centre developments from pre-construction through to delivery while working alongside experienced industry professionals in a collaborative and innovative environment.
