Position: Desktop / IT Support Engineer

Location: Cambridge, UK (Onsite)

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Desktop / IT Support Engineer to provide onsite and remote support for end users across Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android environments. The role involves desktop support, asset management, user onboarding/offboarding, infrastructure support, and collaboration with global IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Support Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android devices.
  • Perform device deployments, tech refreshes, and hardware replacements.
  • Manage user onboarding, offboarding, and workstation setup.
  • Maintain hardware/software inventory and asset lifecycle records.
  • Support printers, meeting room technologies, Microsoft Teams, and telecom services.
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting, IP configuration, and remote access setup.
  • Resolve incidents and service requests through established IT processes.
  • Deliver user training and promote technology best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across IT services.

Required Skills

  • Experience in Desktop Support, IT Support, or End User Computing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS support.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure AD, Exchange, ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, connectivity, Remote Desktop).
  • Experience with asset management and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in enterprise IT environments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft, Apple, or ITIL.
