We’re looking for a Director, Project Management to lead a portfolio of software projects spanning several products, engineering teams and business groups. Together, we’ll improve how work is planned, coordinated and delivered across Arm, helping our engineering community achieve reliable outcomes.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering Delivery, this role is part of multiple leadership teams and will influence how we prioritise work, manage dependencies and support customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Work with multiple leadership teams to define project strategy, translate business goals into measurable plans and ensure the portfolio supports Arm’s product roadmap.
  • Lead projects across multiple products and organisations, creating clarity around priorities, ownership, progress and outcomes.
  • Develop and support the project management team through coaching, continuous learning, succession planning and career development.
  • Represent the portfolio in leadership forums, contributing to wider decisions and helping teams align around shared goals.

Project Execution

  • Guide delivery across concurrent projects, balancing priorities, resources, dependencies and risks while maintaining alignment with wider programmes.
  • Develop practical approaches to planning and governance that connect product roadmaps, execution and customer delivery.
  • Identify risks, dependencies and potential barriers early, working with partners to resolve them before they affect delivery.
  • Support relevant security, quality and regulatory requirements while using delivery insights to help teams improve.

Collaboration and Influencing

  • Build effective relationships across Engineering, Product Management, Programme Management and other Arm software groups.
  • Support informed decisions through clear communication, evidence and an understanding of different perspectives.
  • Bring structure to uncertain situations, helping colleagues navigate competing priorities and reach balanced decisions.

Skills And Experience

We’re interested in people who can connect strategy with delivery, bring different groups together and help others succeed. Relevant experience may include:

  • Leading complex software projects or portfolios across several teams, products or locations.
  • Guiding multifunctional teams through collaboration and influence.
  • Delivering enterprise, embedded, platform or cloud software, or products within a developer ecosystem.
  • Working with senior leaders to turn business priorities into practical plans, investment decisions and measurable outcomes.
  • Developing customer-ready software at scale, including areas of the software stack from firmware and boot flows through to operating systems and applications.
  • Communicating ideas clearly and working effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers.

Personal Attributes

Technical Understanding

Experience with modern software development lifecycles, Agile methods, release management, DevOps and continuous integration and delivery would be useful. An awareness of software architecture, platform development, quality engineering, security and delivery measurement will also help in guiding discussions and decisions.

Additional Information

Salary: GBP £144,600.00-£195,600.00, depending on skills and experience.
