Eating Disorder Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Overview

We have an exciting role which has become available to work within our Inpatient Eating Disorder Service. We are looking for some who is motivated, compassionate and recovery focused. To support the adults and their families through this stage of their treatment journey.

We are looking for someone who wants to work alongside the OT Team -be part of the delivery team in our therapeutic group programme work and 1:1 work. As well as being a consistent part of our wider integrated multidisciplinary team

Main duties of the job

• Work closely with the Occupational Therapy team and wider Team in contributing to the facilitation of client centred activities under guidance of qualified staff.
• Contribute to the daily running of the Vincent Square therapeutic programme and running of the ward, supporting the MDT.
• Provide activities with personal recovery principles in order to improve the service users’ quality of life and to support them to do the things they want to do and live the life they want to lead.
• Contribute to the facilitation of a programme of social, creative and skills based activities within Vincent Square and trips within the local community to both individuals and groups which promotes social inclusion for service users.
• 1:1 Provision under the supervision of the Occupational Therapy Team

Essential criteria

• English GCSE or equivalent
  
  

Previous Experience

• Experience in facilitating groups and individual activities.
• Experience of working within a team

• Previous experience of working in a mental health setting.
• Voluntary experience
• Provision of activities in health services.
