  • Provide support to the CDM/EHS Manager in the implementation, maintenance & improvements of the ENKA Site EHS Management System;
  • Take ownership of the ENKA Risk Assessment & Method Statement schedule for documentation development.

Tasks & Responsibilities


  • Carry out ongoing inspections of the site areas - action any findings and report on the project software tool, Insight;
  • Ensure employees are provided with information, instruction and training to carry out work in a manner that is safe and does not harm their health or negatively affect the environment;
  • Assist the CDM/EHS Manager in coordinating and controlling activities with respect to EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operational areas of plant;
  • Assist the CDM/EHS Manager in ensuring compliance of site activities with the company and site specific EHS Plan, Standards and work instructions;
  • Assist in the review of EHS documents submitted by the subcontractors including manage completion/approval;
  • Support compliance with the site disciplinary procedure and zero tolerance policy;
  • Contribute to the implementation of the site incentive scheme;
  • Participate in the implementation of the site EHS training programme by providing EHS inductions and ensuring an effective Tool Box Talk regime is in place;
  • Provide support and advice to site personnel so as to prevent injury to personnel, damage to plant and equipment, fire, ensuring environmental protection and site security;
  • Advise the site personnel on EHS requirements applicable to the site activities;
  • Lead by example in personally complying with the site EHS procedures;
  • Carry out any other specific task defined by the CDM/EHS Manager to support the implementation of the site EHS Management System;
  • Issue report of activities when required;
  • To intervene whenever site activities do not meet the established EHS requirements of the risk assessment / method statement;
  • Prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans including the implementation of the NNB Emergency Preparedness Standard;
  • Carry out Incident Investigations when necessary, liaise with the Principal Contractor and conclude with detailed reports containing actions and manage a close;


  • Oversee the effective implementation of the NNB Work Authorisation Form & Permit to Work process, audit and assign actions as necessary;
  • Conduct EHS Inspections & Audits with subcontractors and document within ComplyWorks;
  • Assist the ENKA team, with the successful implementation and improvement of the NNB Health & Safety Performance Index & Environmental & Sustainability Performance Index;
  • Attend Principle Contractor EHS, Coordination and miscellaneous meetings as necessary to ensure effective communication;
  • Attend the ENKA Daily Activity Briefing at the start of each shift to influence the positive EHS culture;

Key Performance Indicators


  • Scoring of regular site EHS Inspections
  • Work to continually improve scoring within the Customer Satisfaction Survey;
  • Implement and oversee a regular regime of Toolbox Talks within our scope of works;
  • Achieve the Employers requirements regarding regular Emergency Preparedness drills;

Specific Functional / Technical Authority


  1. Create, review and assist with the RAMS process specifically for the ENKA scope of works;
  2. Assist with the integration of subcontractors who have mechanical activities as a part of their scope;
  3. Oversee the vetting of subcontractors competence for all mechanical activities,
  4. Be the ENKA primary EHS point of contact for mechanical installation works, including attend Principal Contractor meetings and associated workshops,

Be present on site for the initiation of activities, which is likely to include: RAMS final check, equipment certification checks, Work Authorisation Form & Permit to Work checks, Permit to Load Checks, Point of Work Risk Assessment checks;

Job Specifics

Knowledge of the EHS requirements set out in the contract, local law, rules and regulations and ENKAEHS Policy / Directives, this includes the NNB EHS procedures.

Profile

1. Education & Trainings

Mandatory (MUST)


  • Hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent;
  • Be a holder of a current CSCS card or CITB MAPS certificate,
  • Be competent with the Microsoft packages - Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point;

Desirable




    • ISO45001 Internal Auditor Certificate;
    • First Aid at Work;
    • Recognised Accident/Incident Investigation Training;
    • Manual Handling Trainer;
    • PASMA
    • IPAF



  1. Professional Experience Mandatory (MUST)

    • Minimum of 5-year's EHS experience on large scale construction sites, preferably in the


power plant or oil & gas industry;




    • Strong technical knowledge EHS working practices on a construction site;
    • Strong technical knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation;
    • Able to navigate in an multi-cultural environment;
    • Suitable experience working within large mechanical installations and overseeing the EHS element of this high risk activity



  1. Language Skills Mandatory (MUST)

    • Fluent in English (oral & written).
