Role Summary

A leading food manufacturing company in Cambridge is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the reliability, performance, and maintenance of production equipment. This is a hands-on role offering a competitive salary, Monday to Friday day shifts, and additional earning potential through a 1-in-3 on-call rota.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on manufacturing and production equipment.
  • Minimise downtime by supporting production operations.
  • Fault-find on control systems, motors, sensors, machinery, and associated equipment.
  • Work with PLCs and industrial control systems.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety procedures.
  • Participate in a 1 week in 3 on-call rota.


Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, or Multi-Skilled Engineer.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
  • Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or food production environments.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faults on industrial machinery.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety and safe working practices.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical qualification or completed electrical apprenticeship.
  • Experience with PLCs and control systems.
  • Knowledge of sensors, motors, and industrial automation.
  • Previous food manufacturing experience.
  • Multi-skilled mechanical maintenance experience.
