ROLE: Engineering Manager – Electrical Bias


HOURS: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00/09:00 - 17:00 (Fixed shift)


LOCATION: Swanwick, near Fareham

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager – Electrical Bias to work on the NATS contract, primarily based at Swanwick near Fareham. This role is responsible for managing the Maintenance Manager and providing overarching leadership of the FM team delivering multi-skilled maintenance services across High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical and mechanical disciplines.


Role Responsibilities

  • Manage the Maintenance Manager and provide overall leadership for the FM team delivering planned and reactive maintenance services.
  • Oversee compliance requirements, records management, internal and external audits, and liaise with Mitie Senior Management and the client.
  • Supervise High Voltage and Low Voltage switching operations in accordance with Mitie Safe Systems of Work.
  • Ensure all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved and coordinate activities with contractors and external suppliers where required.
  • Provide cover for the Facilities Management Service Co-ordinator and Engineering Director when required, including the completion of reports and documentation within agreed timescales.


Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:

  • Previous experience in an engineering management position with an electrical bias.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a thorough understanding of health and safety legislation.
  • Previous experience working within a critical environment (Desirable).
  • High Voltage or Low Voltage Appointed Person experience would be advantageous. The successful candidate must be willing to attend and pass a recognised High Voltage Appointed Persons Course, which is mandatory for the role.
